Rodeo Judging and Rules

ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL!

POINTS

• All participating teams must enter all events in order to be eligible for the overall team championship.
• The points will be awarded in each event for each round. Points shall be given to the teams in relation to the number of teams in the rodeo as follows:

 EXAMPLE: If there are 10 teams in the rodeo 1st place will receive 10 points, 2nd -9 points etc… No time will receive 0 points for the round.

• The team with the most points is the winner.

 In case of a tie in the overall team standings the resolution of the tie will be as follows:

(1^st) the team receiving points in the most events is the winner. (2^nd) Most points in Branding.

(3^rd) Most Points in Doctoring. (4^th) Most Points in Sorting. (5^th) Most Points in Bronc Riding.

• Cash payout is as follows: 1^st- 40% of pot, 2^nd-25% of pot, 3^rd-15% of pot

GENERAL RULES

• A team will consist of four (4) members and must include at least one (1) male or female.
• An entry fee of $500.00 per team will be charged and is due prior to the start of the rodeo. Each team is encouraged to find its own “sponsor”.
• 20% of the pot will be held back for stock charge.
• No alternate can be listed. If a team member is injured or for some other reason cannot complete required events, team must take a “no time” or compete as is.

RULES OF CONDUCT

• Anyone (contestant or otherwise) entering the arena shall be wearing long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, boots and a cowboy hat. Chaps and spurs should be worn but are not mandatory in all events.
• Abuse of either personal animals or event animals, (kicking, whipping, tripping, gouging of eyes, or any action which is totally unnecessary) is strictlyprohibited. No Exceptions!
• No alcoholic beverages permitted in arena. No Exceptions!
• No loud, obnoxious profanity or unsportsmanlike conduct.
• The violation of any conduct rule could result in Team disqualification.

HUMANE TREATMENT OF LIVESTOCK

• These rules are intended to ensure the humane treatment of all livestock. No animal shall be treated inhumanely by any member. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Animals for all events will be inspected before the draw, and no sore, lame, sick or injured animal or animal with defective eyesight, shall be permitted in the draw at anytime. Should an animal become sick or incapacitated between the time it is drawn and the time it is scheduled to be used in competition, that animal shall not be used in competition and another animal shall be drawn for the contestant.
